Last week I was fortunate to have the pleasure of spending a day shadowing Yvonne Fovargue - MP for Makerfield. I spent the day experiencing what it is like to be a sitting Member of Parliament - something I hope to be when I am older.

As a person who is passionately interested in Politics, this was a unique opportunity that I was extremely grateful to have.

Yvonne and her PA Ben gave me a hands on experience of their careers which I found invaluable. I learned what it was like to work as an MP and also as an Assistant for an MP and was able to experience what Yvonne experiences when she conducts her day-to-day role, and also how to conduct a surgery in my own local constituency of Makerfield.

Additionally, I took part in experiencing politics from the perspective of a politician and learned many new skills throughout the day.

After spending the day in Yvonne's constituency office in Wigan, I cannot express how much I enjoyed it. It was a fabulous opportunity and one that has only fuelled my future passion to one day enter either local or national politics and potentially fulfil an even greater ambition to become PM one day!
