A man who was found in possession of cannabis after being arrested for shoplifting has been given a community order.

Jamie Wood, 32, of Montrose Avenue, Norley, appeared before Wigan magistrates to plead guilty to stealing £246 of skin care products from Boots and possessing the class B drug on January 13.

His community order includes both a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and a drug rehab requirement.

His court costs and surcharge also totalled £195.
